THE professional body for teachers in Scotland has appointed Kenneth Muir as its new chief executive.
Mr Muir is strategic director at Education Scotland and will take up the role at the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) at the end of September. Current GCTS chief executive Anthony Finn is retiring.
