A ward at the biggest hospital in the Highlands, which was closed to admissions and visitors last week because of flu outbreak, has reopened.

Ward 7C at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness was closed on January 20 due to a number of flu cases but with no new cases since last Thursday, January 22, the ward has been reopened. There were a total of 11 cases of flu during the time it was closed.

But the hospital authorities are asking members of the public if they, or someone they live with, have been ill with flu or flu like symptoms that they still refrain from coming in to the hospital to visit patients. They ask the public to hold off visiting until their are better, in the interests of the patients' health.
