Abbotsford House in council dispute

THE trustees of the former home of Sir Walter Scott are facing a dispute with council officials over plans to build houses just yards from the historic building.

Scottish Borders Council has identified a greenfield site close to Abbotsford House as the potential location for 45 homes. The council is undertaking a public consultation on the project and will consider responses on June 24.
