POLICE are carrying out high-visibility patrols after two firearms incidents in Edinburgh.

Shots were fired at a parked vehicle within The Murrays Brae and at a property in Gilmerton Dykes Drive at around 9.30pm last Saturday, September 20.

A week on, police will be speaking to witnesses, stopping cars and appealing for anyone who remembers anything suspicious to come forward.

There are no reports of anyone having been injured as a result.

Detective Chief Inspector Kenny Gray said: "The investigation is making progress, and we have detained four people in a crackdown on organised crime. But we are still looking for members of the community to come forward with information. We know that there are people out there who hold the key to identifying those responsible."
