DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a woman in Edinburgh woodland want to trace a Renault Scenic that was seen twice in the area two months ago.

The inquiry into the death of the white woman, who was aged between 32 and 60, was launched two weeks ago after a cyclist discovered the unidentified body in a shallow grave two weeks ago.

Police said the Scenic was parked near the shallow grave where the body was found on Corstophine Hill on two occasions in mid-April around 10pm.

Detective Chief Inspector Keith Hardie, from Police Scotland, told the BBC's Crimewatch Roadshow the grey or gold car was seen in Corstorphine Road, next to the entrance to the hill.

Mr Hardie said: "As part of our ongoing investigation we are keen to speak to anyone who has noticed any suspicious activity in the area of Corstorphine Hill in recent months."

The public are also being asked to help identify the the victim, who had fair hair and about 5ft 2in tall.

She had significant cosmetic work on her teeth and was wearing distinctive rings on her fingers.
