Art is in the air

FRED the horse, joined by owner Sarah Chadfield, sports a jacket painted by artist Hope London as part of a rural mural project for the Spring Fling festival.

During the event artists will transform everything from houses and barns to cars and old aircraft fuel tanks. The Fling starts tomorrow and runs until Monday across Dumfries and Galloway.

Leah Black, Spring Fling Director, said: "People can drive round the region and see colourful artworks in unexpected places. They can even watch as a tractor is turned into a mural."
