A WOMAN has been charged with running a brothel in a suburb of a seaside town.
Karen Hill, 38, appeared in private at Ayr Sheriff Court yesterday.
It is alleged that between September 28 and October 12 at her home in the Belmont area of Ayr she kept, managed, acted or assisted in the management of a brothel.
Hill is also charged with being in possession of the class A drug cocaine at the address on October 12.
Solicitor Tony Currie said the accused made no plea or declaration and was released on bail. An extra condition of bail was imposed preventing Hill from approaching or contacting two women who are potential witnesses in any forthcoming trial. The case was continued.
