RESCUE teams have recovered the body of a 47-year-old woman from the River Teviot in the Borders.

The discovery was made on Tuesday afternoon at the Roxburgh stretch of the river near Kelso.

Volunteers from Borders Search and Rescue had been assisting officers from Police Scotland in

searching for the woman who had been reported missing from her home.

The body was recovered by members of the Borders Water and Rescue Team.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said they were still making enquiries but added:"The circumstances

are not believed to be suspicious."

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal at Jedburgh.
