Bomb disposal experts have removed a suspicious package found at a holiday complex.

Police discovered the object when they were called to Logierait Pine Lodges near Pitlochry, Perthshire, at around 5pm yesterday.

A cordon was put in place around the area and 17 residents were moved to a nearby hotel.

The Army team remained at the scene overnight.

A police spokeswoman said: "Specialist resources assessed the package and took appropriate action.

"There was no danger to the public."

The complex remains closed but staff hope residents will be able to return later.

One man was taken to hospital and police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
