ARMY bomb disposal officers are at a holiday park in Perthshire after the discovery of a suspicious package in a pine lodge.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal officers were at Logierait Lodges, near Pitlochry to deal with the incident.

Police have moved 17 people from the lodges to safety in a local hotel.

A police spokesman said the EOD arrived at around 9.20pm.

Officers found the device after they responded to a routine call at about 5pm.

The spokesman said: "We are currently dealing with an incident involving a suspicious package. The EOD will be doing their briefing and they will do what they do and we will be taking it from there."

One man has been taken to hospital. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
