Scottish comedian and satirist Rory Bremner is to take aim at Scottish politics for a new one-off show for BBC Scotland.

The show, entitled Rory Goes to Holyrood, will show the Edinburgh-born comedian rediscovering Scotland after spending most of his working life in England.

Bremner said: "Coming back to Scotland in the run-up to the referendum, I realised I knew almost nothing about Scottish politics.

"Time I did. And why is there so little political comedy in Scotland outside the Parliament? Time to make sense, and nonsense, of it all."

The show is being made by The Comedy Unit in Glasgow for BBC Scotland and will be broadcast later this year. It will culminate with a performance at Edinburgh's General Assembly Hall.
