Correction

We reported on Saturday that wind turbines could potentially occupy nearly 10% of Scotland's National Forest Estate.

In fact, the area that could be covered would be at most one-third of one per cent. Between 700 and 1000 turbines are expected to be erected on the estate, not, as we reported, a quadrupling in the number from about 850 to more than 3200. The forestry land will not be sold off but will remain in public ownership under leasing arrangements with developers.
