Elvis fan dies during pilgrimage

AN Elvis Presley fan has died following a road accident while on a pilgrimage to her idol's American homeland.

According to reports, Andrea Baker had attended a concert by her favourite Elvis impersonator just minutes before being knocked down by a hit-and-run driver in Memphis, Tennessee.

The 54-year-old, from Pembrokeshire, West Wales, died two days later in hospital.

Ms Baker had been on an extended trip to the US and visited the Heartbreak Hotel singer's former home, Graceland.

The South Wales Evening Post reported that fellow Elvis fans are now trying to raise £6,500 to bring her body back to Haverfordwest.

Ms Baker's family were unavailable for comment.
