Glasgow's Emirates Arena this weekend hosted the cheerleading European Championships.

It was the first time the event, one of the largest on the cheerleading calendar, had been held in the UK. More than 1700 cheerleaders from 20 countries battled it out for titles over two age categories from 12 up to adults.

Tone Sparby, president of the European Cheer Union, said: "I have never been to cheerleading championships in a venue like this so we are proud to be able to be here." Picture: James Galloway.
