Exhibition has quite a few high points

The work of ceramicist Lorna Fraser is admired by Amy Cockburn of the Royal Scottish Academy, which is once again hosting the annual open exhibition of the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA).

The 16th annual exhibition runs in the upper galleries of the central Edinburgh institution until March. The SSA returned to the venue in 2003.

The Lorna Fraser work displayed above is called Sample Removed.

This year's exhibition award, The Tony and Maureen Toft Prize, worth £1000, was won by Ruth Nicol for Leith In Winter Sandport From The Shore.
