Iona Abbey is the only Historic Scotland property that is also used as a place of worship that charges.
Sightseers pay £7.10 while worshippers go free.
South of the Border, York Minister lets locals and worshippers in for free but charges £10 for tourists. Identification, including a driving licence, utility bill or proof of address, is needed.
Westminster Abbey is £18 per adult, £40 a one-year season ticket and free to Westminster area residents with proof of ID and worshippers, but with restrictions.
Coventry Cathedral has a free historic ruin and a modern church which charges visitors £6. Worshippers go free. Salisbury Cathedral asks £6.50 to be volunteered.
