Two men have been killed in crash between a bus and van on the way to Rockness music festival.

The van driver and his passenger were killed in the collision yesterday afternoon at Ralia in the Highlands.

Fourteen of the 46 bus passengers were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. The female bus driver had to be cut from the vehicle and airlifted to hospital. Other passengers were treated at the scene or taken to Inverness, where Highland council arranged welfare and accommodation.

The A9 was crowded in the run-up to the music festival. As a result of the crash northbound diversions have been set up through Dalwhinnie and southbound diversions through Crubenmore.
