Around 30 firefighters tackled a blaze at a restaurant in Scotland's capital.

Crews attended The Granary in Edinburgh's Shore area after receiving a call at around 7pm last night. No casualties were reported.

They discovered a fire in the kitchen which had spread into the roof space.

Hose reels and height platforms were used to tackle the blaze during what the fire service described as "challenging weather conditions".

Nearby roads were closed.

The extent of the damage was not immediately known.
