Former Scotland football captain Colin Hendry has been charged with drink driving.

Hendry, 49, was arrested by police after being stopped while behind the wheel of a blue Ford Focus at 1.15 am last Saturday morning on Church Road in Lytham, Lancashire.

Hendry was charged with drink driving and bailed to appear before Blackpool Magistrates' Court on March 4.

Hendry, who lives at Coopers Row in Lytham, had a long and successful football career as a defender with clubs including Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers and Old Firm giants Rangers.
