From screen to page: Limmy writes his first book of stories and anecdotes

Scottish comedian Limmy is writing a mix of stories to be published in a book next year.

Brian Limond, famous for writing, directing and starring in BBC Scotland's Limmy's Show, is penning his first book as a series of stories and anecdotes.

Daft Wee Stories will feature short stories next to longer ones, some written as thoughts and musings and some with illustrations.

He said: "I'm really enjoying writing these stories. It's like writing sketches for Limmy's Show, only I don't need to worry about if it can be filmed or not. If I want an explosion, I can simply type the word 'explosion', and it happens."

Jack Fogg, editorial director at publisher Century, said: "Limmy has one of the most original, thoughtful and brilliant comic minds I've encountered. He can flip from side-splittingly funny to genuinely profound in the space of a paragraph.

"I'm sure that with Daft Wee Stories, we're seeing the start of what will become a very exciting and unique writing career."
