Funds reach £250,000

FUNDRAISER Lisa Stephenson has passed the £250,000 mark in her efforts to raise money for the Maggie's charity.

Maggie's Austerity Ball, held at Edinburgh's Sheraton Grand Hotel and hosted by Fred MacAulay, generated £118,000 to push the total past the £250,000 barrier.

Ms Stephenson, who only started fundraising a year ago after her own cancer diagnosis, said: "I am overwhelmed by the success of the Austerity Ball, as I am by all the fundraising and fundraisers over the last year."
