The singer and human rights campaigner, who will be 60 on Christmas Day, appeared on the Andrew Marr Show a day after her latest album was nominated for a Grammy award.

Her new album, Nostalgia' has been shortlisted under the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category by the prestigious American awards body.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles on February 8 2015.

The former Eurythmics vocalist has already scooped four Grammy awards in her career.

Lennox performed one of the album's tracks, 'I Put a Spell on You', live on the BBC show.
