Hamilton's pride over book award

TYLER Hamilton has described has pride at winning the William Hill sports book of the year for his expose of Lance Armstrong's drug-taking that led to him being stripped of his seven Tour de France titles.

However, the disgraced former team-mate of the fallen idol said of The Secret Race that he was "not proud of what's in it".

Ex-Olympic gold medallist and co-writer Daniel Coyle received £24,000 for the book that revealed the murky dealings in professional cycling. John Inverdale, presenting the award, said the book "fundamentally changed cycling".
