A MAN has died while walking at Ben Lomond.

Emergency services were called to the Munro, on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond, at around 11.50am on Sunday.

A Scottish Ambulance helicopter, rescue teams and police attended at the scene but the man, whose age is not known, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood he may have fallen.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police in Forth Valley were called to Ben Lomond at 11.50am this morning following reports of concern for a person.

"Emergency services attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."

Meanwhile, an RAF crew was called out to rescue a teenager from the top of the Wallace Monument in Stirling.

The 17-year-old dislocated his knee just four steps from the top and was unable to get back down the stairs due to restricted access.

The RAF helicopter was called to the scene at about 1.15pm on Sunday and the teen was winched to safety before being taken to an ambulance waiting on the ground.
