Teenager held after six blazes set in blocks of flats

A teenager has been arrested following a series of fires which led to six blocks of flats being evacuated.

The six stairwell fires all took place in Portobello, Edinburgh, on Sunday and Monday.

No one was seriously injured but the flats had to be evacuated on each occasion, with some residents treated for smoke inhalation.

Police Scotland said a 17-year-old boy has been arrested.

He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow.
