Investigation launched into Dumfries and Galloway workplace death

A man has died in a workplace accident, police say.

The man, 62, was killed in an incident at a branch of Tarff Valley agricultural suppliers at Old Station Yard in the village of Whauphill, Dumfries and Galloway.

Police Scotland and the Health and Safety Executive have launched a joint investigation into the accident, which happened yesterday morning.

The man's name has not been released but police said he was local to the area.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
