The Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill and his assistant Roy Keane have been involved in a road accident in Dublin.

The ex-Celtic manager and the former Manchester United player, are being assessed by the team doctor back at the hotel in the Irish capital.

They were preparing for Saturday's crucial European Championship qualification match against Scotland at the city's Aviva Stadium, when the incident happened on the M50 motorway today.

A Guardai source said: "There was a minor collision on the M50, which runs through Dublin. Neither man was injured."

The Irish Football Assocation tweeted that the "management team were involved in collision on M50 earlier. Vehicle was rear ended in traffic. Have rtn'd (returned) to hotel & been seen by team Doc."
