London costs a packet for breaks

Tourists are forced to splash more cash in London than in any other major world city, according to a survey.

TripAdvisor found that a one-night stay in a four-star hotel plus a meal for two including wine and two short taxi journeys cost £312 in the capital. Paris was the second most expensive city, at £306.
