Making music

EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Saleh Iswaissi, a pupil at Cuthbertson Primary school in Glasgow, plays the violin during a concert to mark the one-year anniversary of the Big Noise Govanhill.

He is among children from schools in the area who have benefited from the country's second youth orchestra set up by Sistema Scotland, inspired by a musical tuition scheme in Venezuela.

The first Big Noise centre was established in the Raploch area of Stirling in 2008.
