Police have appealed for information after a man died following a collision between a van and a lorry on one of Scotland's most notorious roads.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to the scene on the A9 at Blair Atholl at 2.36am today.

Police and the ambulance service also attended.

The lorry was carrying around 3,000 gallons of alcohol, SFRS said.

Police said the road was closed in both directions and a diversion put in place, though it is not suitable for heavy goods vehicles.
