Man dies after being hit by lorry outside school

A man has died after being hit by a lorry outside a school.

The 54-year-old man was struck by an articulated lorry on Hurlet Road, opposite St Andrew's Secondary School in Paisley at around 8.35am on Monday.

Sergeant Kenny Malaney, road policing at Renfrew, said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this road crash.

"I would ask anyone who was in or around the area at the time of the incident and saw the man wearing blue jeans and a blue striped jumper or witnessed the crash to come forward."

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Anyone with information is asked to contact road policing at Renfrew on the non-emergency telephone number 101.
