Man stabbed in the street

A 24-YEAR-OLD man is in a critical, but stable condition in intensive care after being stabbed by a man in the street on Wednesday evening in what police described as a totally unprovoked attack.

He was with three men when a man suddenly ran towards the group in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire.

His friends escaped unhurt, but the injured man was taken to the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow. The suspect is aged 20 to 30, 6ft and was wearing a grey hooded top.
