A new musical composition inspired by the history of one of Scotland's most famous modern ruins is to debut this weekend.

The "audio collage" by Dr Michael Gallagher, of Glasgow University's School of Geographical and Earth Sciences, celebrates the history of the St Peter's Seminary and Kilmahew Woods in Argyll.

The Glasgow-based arts company NVA is currently planning to transform the listed ruin, a modernist building designed by Gillespie Kidd & Coia which has been neglected for decades, into an education and arts facility called The Invisible College.

Mr Gallagher said: "Remnants of the past are visible all over the site, with old artefacts easily found when walking around.

"The piece Kilmahew Audio Drift No 1 responds to the geography of the site through sound."
