Conservative leader Ruth Davidson says being knocked back from buying a beer at Bruce Springsteen's Glasgow gig has 'made her week'.

The Glasgow MSP was unable to buy a beer for her colleague David Mundell at the show at Hampden Park yesterday because she did not have ID with her.

She tweeted: "Brilliantly, I got kb'd for not having ID trying to buy Mundell a beer at the Springsteen gig. He's 51. I'm clearly #34goingon17 #underage."

The tweet quickly received a lot of responses from some of Scotland's top politicians, actors and writers.

Colin McCredie tweeted: "New SNP policy!! '@RuthDavidsonMSP: Brilliantly, I got kb'd for not having ID trying to buy Mundell a beer at the Springsteen gig'."

Jim Murphy MP tweeted: "@RuthDavidsonMSP Don't worry in the referendum it's votes at 16 so you should be OK."

Ian Rankin tweeted: "(That's the excuse they gave her anyway...) (Sorry, Ruth!)

Springsteen played a three and a half hour set at Hampden.
