Police investigating a sexual assault have released a photograph of the suspect's jacket.

A 52-year-old woman was attacked as she walked along a footpath near to a wooded area in the "The Woodies" area near Broomhill Terrace in Aberdeen on December 11.

The suspect left the khaki canvas style jacket behind after the assault

It is from the George clothing brand from Asda and is in medium size.

The suspect is described as being white, aged between 20 and 30, 6ft and of medium build. He has a chiselled jaw and is clean-shaven with short brown hair.

At the time of the attack, he was wearing a white and yellow short-sleeved, striped polo shirt, blue jeans and a jacket identical to the one in the image.

Police Scotland appealed for information about the incident.

Detective Constable Kirsty Munro said: "I would urge anyone who recognises the description of this male or the image of the jacket to make contact with the Police and pass on their details

"It may be that you know someone who once had the jacket but doesn't any more."
