FURTHER tests are being carried out in the case of Sheku Bayoh after a Post Mortem failed to reveal how he died.
The Crown office has instructed experts to carry out further investigation into the cause of death of the 31-year-old, who died in police custody more than a month ago.
The father of two collapsed after being restrained by police who were following up reports of a suspect wielding a knife.
Mr Bayoh's family and his partner Collette have been campaigning to demand answers over how he died.
A Crown Office spokeswoman said: "The results of the post mortem have been received.
"Further investigation is required to ascertain the cause of death.
"We're instructing experts to carry out this work."
Sheku died in hospital two hours after he was restrained by up to nine officers who responded to a 999 call at around 7am on May 3.
The Bayoh family's lawyer Aamer Anwar said: "The family wish to know whether the methods used to restrain Sheku were proportionate and legitimate and whether he was carrying a knife at the time the police tried to arrest him.
"The central question for the Bayohs is whether the use of batons, CS spray and physical force by several officers had any role to play in Sheku's death.
"The family have tried desperately to remain open-minded, but this is a complicated inquiry which still has a long way to go.
"And the actions of Police Scotland in the aftermath of the death have not assisted."
Police watchddog, the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC), is investigating Sheku's death.
