PRESIDING Officer Tricia Marwick shows off one of the displays from a Scottish Parliament exhibition to celebrate the legacy of Andrew Carnegie.

The philanthropist was the richest person in the world in his lifetime and gave away $350 million before he died in 1919. The Dunfermline-born businessman donated funds for the Peace Palace at The Hague, which opened in 1913, while the Carnegie Corporation of New York funded research into teaching children through television, which led to the creation of Sesame Street.
