SEVEN schoolchildren were taken to hospital after a crash between their minibus and a vehicle transporting cows.

The collision happened on the A82 near Inverbeg, Argyll and Bute, at about 10.15am yesterday.

The seven children from Kilpatrick School in West Dunbartonshire were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, Renfrewshire, as a precaution along with the two drivers. It is not thought anyone was seriously injured.

The road was closed because of a number of animals on the carriageway.

A spokeswoman for West Dunbartonshire Council said: "Pupils from Kilpatrick School were involved in a road traffic accident on their way to Loch Lomond Outdoor Centre."
