Five poems, one in Scots, have been shortlisted for the 2012 Edwin Morgan International Poetry Competition.
The competition, sponsored by the University of Strathclyde and hosted by the Edinburgh International Book Festival, offers prizes totalling £6600 and has drawn 1110 entries from 475 poets. The winner will be announced at a ceremony on August 18.
The poems shortlisted are Peach by Daisy Behagg, The Kids by Jen Hadfield, Forest Glass by Katherine Sowerby, Look Hamewards, Now by Mike Vallely and The Perils of Surgery by Malcolm Watson.
