Mountain rescue teams have resumed the search for a missing hillwalker.

Eric Cyl, 62, was last seen heading off into the Mamore mountain range near Fort William in the Highland Council area on Saturday morning.

Police were contacted yesterday when he failed to return.

The RAF mountain rescue team, Lochaber mountain rescue team and specialist search and rescue dogs resumed the search at 8.40am today.

Yesterday, Lochaber and Glencoe mountain rescue teams were involved in a search of an area known as Ring of Steall with specialist rescue dogs and a coastguard helicopter.

Mr Cyl, who was walking alone, was last seen wearing a light grey jacket and dark trousers. He was carrying two walking poles.

Police appealed for anyone who saw Mr Cyl in the region during Saturday to contact them.
