A KILTED Sir Chris Hoy was at Buckingham Palace to deliver the baton which will be relayed around the world ahead of next year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Sir Chris, Britain's most successful Olympian, carried the symbol down The Mall yesterday alongside the pipes and drums of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards and the 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment Of Scotland. The Queen - head of the Commonwealth - launched the 248-day relay, which will visit 70 countries and territories sending athletes to the Games.

The baton is due in Glasgow today.
