Springtime ski adventure

JUNE may be almost here, but a brave French skier has been attempting to make the most of the diminishing snow in the Cairngorms.

Kevin Blanc, a freeride skier who specialises in 'black runs' is captured in this dramatic picture on the Highlands range.

New figures reveal Scotland enjoyed a bumper skiing season as the slopes saw better conditions than the Alps, Pyrenees and even the Rockies.

There were 235,303 "skier days" at the five mountain resorts worth £23.7million to the Scottish economy.
