Golf enthusiasts can now register to get tickets for next year's Ryder Cup.

A ticketing website has been launched, with prices for the six-day event at Gleneagles in Perth and Kinross ranging from £10 to £145.

But would-be buyers must submit a photograph to the website before the application process for tickets opens on June 10.

Applicants may then enter a ballot for the 12,000 tickets available for each of the event's match days on September 26-28.

A further 20,000 tickets will go on sale for each of the Ryder Cup practice days on September 23-25.

The tickets will feature a photograph of the holder to prevent fraud or ticket transfers, according to Ryder Cup Europe.

The ballot for match-day tickets will close on July 22, with successful applicants notified in August.

Richard Hills, European Ryder Cup director, said: "The 2014 Ryder Cup promises to be a truly great sporting occasion set in one of the world's most spectacular and iconic golfing locations. Understandably, tickets are highly sought-after but the ballot process for match-day tickets means that everyone has the same chance of success.

"Furthermore, we fully believe that the range of ticket options available, including the practice-day tickets which are available for purchase straight away (from June 10), offer exceptional value for money and we are proud that children will be able to see some of the greatest golfers in the world on those days for £10."
