The family of a teenager who died while at a house party in the Highlands have said the tragedy has left them "devastated".
Police say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the unexplained death of Nickolas Bowes, 18, who collapsed during a birthday party in Alness, Easter Ross, on Saturday.
Despite attempts to revive him, he later died in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
Ahead of a post-mortem today, his sister Emma and his step-father Trevor MacPhee thanked local people for their support and added: "We are devastated and numb at the loss."
Police refused to confirm reports that Mr Bowes had stabbed himself accidentally while trying to remove an offender's electronic tag which was due to come off next week.
