Fake CDs and DVDs worth almost £450,000 have been seized in a police raid at Glasgow's Barras market.

Copies of current cinema releases including The Equaliser and The Maze Runner were among those recovered in yesterday's operation by Police Scotland and the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT).

Two men aged 19 and 40 and a 29-year-old woman arrested in connection with the seizure will appear in court later.

Inspector Matthew Webb said: "This is a significant seizure and will have a considerable impact on the illegal marketing of counterfeit goods."

FACT director general Kieran Sharp said: "Criminal activity on this scale threatens the livelihoods of the two million people working in the UK's creative industries and harms legitimate businesses."
