TRIBUTES were yesterday paid to a much loved Scottish press photographer who died after falling at Andy Murray's wedding rehearsal.

Gordon Jack, 47, become unwell as photographers captured Murray arriving at Dunblane Cathedral for his wedding rehearsal on Friday afternoon.

He was shown in footage appearing to fall as pictures were taken of the tennis star walking outside the cathedral.

Jack was taken by ambulance to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert but died yesterday afternoon. It is understood he died following complications from a heart attack.

Among those who paid tribute yesterday was Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who wrote on Twitter: "Totally devastated to hear about the death of Gordon Jack. A lovely man and a great photographer. My thoughts with his family and colleagues."

The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) Scotland tweeted: "Our condolences to the wife and children of Gordon Jack who has died after a fall at Dunblane Cathedral covering Andy Murray's wedding."

Jack ran the Scotimage agency in Linlithgow, West Lothian, covering everything from newspaper and PR work to wedding photography.

Scotland's culture secretary Fiona Hyslop also tweeted her condolences, saying: "So sad to hear about Gordon Jack, known well in Linlithgow and nationally, great photographer and leaves a lovely family, thoughts with them."
