A new generation of Scots are encountering Rabbie Burns for the first time this week in preparation for the festivities of January 25th.

Multi-media reporting by Frederik Subei.

Herald Scotland has been meeting the nation’s primary school pupils as they get to grips with some of Burns’ best-known verse, from children’s favourite To a Mouse, to Address to a Haggis, a poem that no Burns supper (or celebration school lunch) would be complete without.

This film features pupils from St Saviour’s Primary School, in Govan, Glasgow, and Blairdardie Primary School in Knightswood, Glasgow - including a pair who can give a better rendition of the Selkirk Grace than many adults we know!
