Six projects from Scotland have reached the finals of the National Lottery Awards, and are seeking public votes to help them triumph.

The awards, supported by the actor John Barrowman, recognise the most popular and inspirational work from National Lottery-funded projects across the UK. There are seven categories covering the main funding areas of arts, sport, heritage, health, environment, education and voluntary/charity.

Two of the seven sport finalists are from Scotland – Easterhouse Phoenix promotes football as an alternative to gang fighting, while Time Capsule Ice, pictured, used Lottery money for an ice rink after the previous one was irreparably damaged. In the health category, Calum's Cabin on the Isle of Bute is a holiday home for families of children suffering from cancer, while arts nominee Creative Sparks at the Village Storytelling Centre works with young carers.
