A DYING musician's agent has criticised "greedy" ticket touts who are trying to cash in on his last tour.

Passes for guitarist Wilko Johnson's farewell tour, including his appearance in Glasgow, have been resold online at inflated prices.

The former Dr Feelgood guitarist, 65, has terminal cancer, but is playing live in February and March.

Tickets sold out within hours, but are now being offered at almost 10 times their original value.

Johnson's concert at the 02 ABC in Glasgow first went on sale priced £21.86. They are now being sold on eBay for between £41 and £64, while prices listed on the ticket website Viagogo range from £117 to £171.

Under UK law it is not illegal to resell tickets for concerts, but Nigel Kerr, Johnson's agent, said: "I think anybody who buys any ticket above the actual, proper price wants their head tested.

"I hope people don't buy them, but until the Government makes it illegal to resell tickets this will go on. It just fuels people's greed. While it's legal, people are always going to do it, but they should be drawing a line somewhere."

Ed Parkinson, head of marketing at Viagogo, said: "There has always been an aftermarket for tickets. Our role is to provide a secure marketplace and a guarantee that buyers will get a valid ticket for the event."

He said the company did not buy tickets, and they were listed by sellers who also set the prices.
