Warburtons has teamed up with the Scottish Ice Cream Alliance to launch Scotland's first crumpetmobile.
The scheme aims to transform ice cream vans into crumpet-toasting mobiles in the winter, providing vendors with an alternative source of income during the colder months.
The van, which comes complete with a toasted crumpet popping out of its roof and a snowplough on its front, will travel through Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverclyde offering locals hot crumpets and tea.
Megan Harrison, Warburtons Portfolio & Brand Director, said: "At Warburtons family is at the heart of everything we do and we wanted to recognise the strong tradition of ice-cream vendor families and their fantastic work, by supporting them with the tools to share a great winter warming product."
Warburtons is looking to help other ice-cream vendors across Scotland this winter and is now calling on small business ice-cream vendors to tweet @warburtons for a chance to receive a crumpet toasting kit.
John Harkins, Ice-Cream Vendor of the Year said: "It has been great to collaborate with a brand with such a strong family heritage. I take a lot of pride in the fact that I learnt the trade from my parents and we're still very much a family business - so it's incredibly important for me to make it an all year round success, by adding new seasonal products and keep the family legacy going."
Zelica Carr, ICA Chief Executive Officer said: "This is an excellent new service which I am sure will be well appreciated by customers in Scotland and will help to provide a welcome boost to our members during the winter period. Our members provide quality ice creams designed to put a smile on the face of their customers and I am sure that this innovative idea by Warburtons will add to the fun factor generated by our ice cream sellers in Scotland."
